And the card was lovely. Thank you deltacephei for the card & gift - so sweet! ♥ It arrived right on time. I miss you, and look forward to both of us having more time to get in touch. Thank you flingslass for the hilarious card, and the Australian warmth - much appreciated here in my cold apartment! ♥ Thank you skuldchan for sending such a hilariously geeky card, and for the kind words. You really know how to make me smile. ♥ Thank you dasmaskus and nackrufs for the card! ♥ I got it on Christmas Eve - couldn't have been more perfect. | Merry Christmas! I'm about to make the Christmas breakfast of champions - scrambled eggs, toast, smoked salmon, bucks fizz - and then there will be present opening, oh yes :D Already had one present this morning, I got my Yuletide fic! Hee! I got a Hetty NCIS:LA fic! *hops up and down like a happy mousey* (If the link doesn't work, the server's probably toppled over. Also, not sure if non-AO3 members will see anything but give it a whirl!) Hope you're all safe and warm and having a wonderful Christmas! *hugglesquishes you all*

| More Christmas presents for the awesome that is my f'list! ♥ (Flist and random lurkers who share AMAZING snow-Merrys with me!) Leaving it unlocked a little while - please feel free to grab whatever you want until I go paranoid. ♥ Some of my very favorite Christmas music which just happens to be all Canadian. Huh. Go Canada! \o/ Barenaked Ladies & Sarah McLachlan - God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen Loreena McKennitt - Good King Wenceslas Great Big Sea - The MummersAnd, of course, Christmas is also for pirates. Singing pirates! One Piece - Utae! Jingle Bells (7 Strawhats) One Piece - Twinkle Twinkle (Chopper)I love these songs just a little too much, I think, but - so so cute! Especially with the random bickering at the end of the Jingle Bells about crossing the seas, where Luffy is ordering people to listen to the captain and they keep ignoring him in favor of offering special cake and congratulating Chopper on his birthday and generally having a fantastic time. ♥ There will be replies from me when I am back from Christmas dinner - thank you so much for all the happy comments! | |

| Why are the internets doing this to me?!
So. Chapter 569 is out. Congratulations. You do know that next Jump after the one where 569 was published isn't due until January 18, right?
Which means - if I read the chapter now, I will have to wait about twenty days for more.
But if I don't read it now, I will have to tread carefully around spoilers, and people will have to flail and say read read! but won't be able to talk to me and I want to read. But I really really don't want to wait until the middle of January to read more...
Am not reading it now, at least - no time!

| Here is my Christmas card - I thought I would share an online version. As for me I will be spending the day with my family. My sister and her kids are already here (they have been for the past few days) and brother-in-law is hopefully on the way. Niece is really looking forward to tomorrow. (I foresee an early wake up time in the morning) Nephews still don't know what is going on - but I think they know something is up. If for no other reason then all the new tempting stuff they can't touch. | |

Wishing you all happy winter holidays, with love and warmth and enough time to sit back and relax. For the One Piece fans, I bring a small gift. ♥ ( It's from Odacchi. )

| Finally read the chapter! Am. Sadly too tired to really caps about it (I suspect I am reaching the end of my endurance; even fueled as it is by glee and wonders), but - I have to write something. Because there was a new chapter, and Odacchi... Odacchi...!! ( And this is why I love One Piece )Ah. No caps, but not exactly short, either. Oops? ETA: Bonus One Piece! Manga 'One Piece' enjoys unprecedented popularity from Japan Times. It is SO WEIRD to see this kind of stilted writing explaining One Piece to total outsiders with little to no emotion when, for me, One Piece is all about the emotion... But, yay. My silly pirate manga is doing so well...! ♥ | |

| A credit card transaction fee of $73??? WTF? Incidentally, in the 60 seconds between when the sale went live and I ordered, it seems that 60 people got an order in. 60 people. If you're wondering; yes, I bought a platinum ticket: all photos, all autos, an evening function, and a breakfast with guests (to wit: RDA, Ben Browder, Chris Judge, David Nykl, Dan Shea, Connor Trineer, David Blue, and Gigi Edgley). Truthfully, I'd rather go to GABIT and have the fandom-friendship experience but I can't get the time off work. Project go-live is the 1st September for dead cert, and there will be no leave permitted for at least a month before. Which effectively rules out GABIT entirely. And, all told, it cost less to buy this ticket than it would to pay for the ticket, flight, and accomodation to the Vancouver events with GABIT. But GABIT would have been awesome fun. Now, the only thing more awesome would be to have Rachel Luttrell as a guest. I've seen her before, but I'd love to see her again! -- Incidentally, I have decided to completely give up the idea of getting my cards and parcels out before Christmas. They'll be New Year cards instead. I'm sorry; my life is just insane right now. Thank heavens I get tomorrow off from 2pm. I'm debating whether to go in at my usual time (7:30am) and sneak out early or go in 'late' (8:30am) and leave with everyone else. Poll #1502591 what time to go in to work?
Open to: All, detailed results viewable to: All, participants: 2 what time should I start work tomorrow (today!) I'd do the ticky boxes, but, really, it's 12:30pm here!

| Gumby (now on Hulu!): ridiculous and awesome
White Christmas: overblown and ridiculous and awesome
England and Always: apparently Tolkien was crazy-awesome, and I want to be him when I grow up. Well, to build a world the way he did. Except I'm kind of lazy and easily distracted, so it probably won't happen.
The Starfish and the Spider: all about why Amazon and Ebay and Toyota are awesome, and how to be just like them (well, no, not really; it's about centralized vs. open-source organizations and is surprisingly good reading)
MST3K Secret Agent Super Dragon: apparently making a James Bond knockoff is harder than you'd think

| Dear Santa...
Dear Santa,
This year I've been busy!
In February lithiumchic and I donated clothes to the needy (11 points). Last Saturday I turned doccy in for running naked in the mall (3 points). In April on a flight to LA, I stole the emergency flight information card (-40 points). Last Wednesday I committed genocide... Sorry about that, the_gneech (-5000 points). In October I caught a purse-snatcher who stole thalinoviel's purse (30 points).
Overall, I've been naughty (-4996 points). For Christmas I deserve a spanking!
Sincerely, Mitchy |

| Here's the thing. I was going to try to write a Jump Festa Day 2 report that was just that - a report of the interesting parts of Jump Festa, with the stages and interviews and whatnot. The kind I wrote with shayera for Day 1. And you know what? I can't do it. I'm currently incapable of sorting out my own impressions of everything surrounding Jump Festa from my impressions of what are the obvious highlights of Jump Festa. That is to say - I have to follow the Odacchi way of storytelling, and start from the beginning. I need a narrative. Oops. So - this is the beginning of the story. I know I have bits and pieces littering my LJ from the past week, but this is it. This is what happened last week, between despair and dream. ( Not going. Going? Going! )( Going! To Tokyo )TBC~! | |
